Total Group of Companies is expanding and is seeking an experienced Journeyman Sprinkler System Technician (apprenticeship may be considered for the right candidate) to join our established Fire Services division. This role offers more than routine service work, providing the opportunity to deliver high-quality fire protection solutions while working within a respected, multi-discipline safety organization.

The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with clients, applying technical expertise to practical solutions, and contributing to long-term client relationships and business success while remaining hands-on in the field.

What You’ll Be Doing

Under the guidance of the Sr. Fire Systems Specialist, you will:

  • Inspect, service, and troubleshoot existing fire sprinkler systems

  • Inspect, service, and troubleshoot fire water pump systems

  • Inspect, service, and troubleshoot fire hydrants

  • Perform system upgrades, repairs, additions, and improvements

  • Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls as required

  • Identify and recommend fire code compliance solutions

  • Prepare detailed inspection, verification, and deficiency reports

  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicles

  • Perform scheduled inspections to ensure ongoing safety compliance

  • Support supplemental Total Fire & Safety divisions as required

  • Engage professionally with clients and identify opportunities for additional services

Required Qualifications

To be considered, you must:

  • Be authorized to work in Canada and possess a valid SIN

  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years driving experience

  • Be able to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract

  • Have experience pulling trailers

  • Be willing to travel and work after hours/weekends as required

  • Be willing to work away from home base as needed

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule

  • Be able to obtain and maintain required oilfield and safety certifications

  • Be willing to pursue ongoing education to meet industry and regulatory needs

Job requirements

To be selected for this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 1 year Journeyman experience in a related role

  • Working knowledge of NFPA standards as they apply

  • Strong technical knowledge of sprinkler system design and construction

  • Strong technical understanding of fire alarm systems design and construction

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and communicate with clients, authorities, and contractors

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
