Hands-on position for an experienced individual confident in towing large trailers, operating forklifts and skid steers, performing mechanical work, and supporting daily shop and yard operations.

We are looking for an experienced, mechanically inclined Shop Hand who is comfortable taking on a wide variety of tasks. This is a jack-of-all-trades position suited to someone who is confident around vehicles, trailers, equipment, and general shop work. This position is a Monday to Friday schedule with the occasional evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate must be dependable, safety-minded, physically capable, and able to recognize what needs to be done and take initiative.

Candidates must have at least three years of relevant hands-on experience involving:

  • Connecting, towing, and maneuvering trailers, including gooseneck and trailers up to 40 feet

  • Operating skid steers and forklifts confidently - not simply at a basic competency level

  • Performing basic vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanically inclined work

  • Completing general repairs, maintenance, and miscellaneous hands-on shop tasks

  • Loading, unloading, moving, and organizing equipment and materials

  • Performing physically demanding work, including regularly lifting and carrying 50–75 lbs.

Job requirements

Applicants must have all of the following to be considered:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

  • Reliable personal vehicle

  • Valid forklift certification

  • Minimum three years of relevant experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding work

Preferred Qualifications

The following experience and certifications are considered assets but are not required:

  • Skid steer certification

  • Welding experience

  • Experience inspecting, servicing, or handling fire extinguishers

  • Experience handling welding gas cylinders

  • H2S Alive

  • Confined Space Entry

  • Fall Protection

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
